Kokis is a traditional deep-fried Sri Lankan sweet, known for its crispy texture and beautiful flower-like shape. It is especially popular during festive seasons. These are the ingredients that we are using for making the kokis – rice flour, gram flour, coconut milk, turmeric (to get the color), salt, & coconut oil for frying. No artificial sugers, colors, flavors or preservatives.
A smooth batter is prepared using rice flour and coconut milk. A special Kokis mold is dipped into the batter and then immersed in hot oil. The batter crisps up instantly, forming a delicate, crunchy snack that is gently removed from the mold and fried until golden. Kokis is a must-have during Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations. It is often served to guests with tea and shared among family and friends.
